During weekly tutoring sessions at Bursch Elementary School, AEP combines a curriculum of vocabulary, reading and math exercises with exciting cultural events and presentations in order to encourage student interest and participation in their education and their community. Diagnostic tests have demonstrated a marked improvement in test scores of past AEP participants, while volunteers have also observed a development of crucial leadership and social skills among students. African culture and history is the central axis around which AEP operates. AEP founded and operates Uhuru Saturday School.
